Hon Badung Gyang group of PDP Plateau state loyal to Sen Allimodu Sheriff have accused the group led by Hon Damishi Sango of plotting to foist an 87 year old elder stateman as gubernatorial candidate of the party for the 2019 general elections.
Rising from a meeting at the Solomon Lar amusement park today,the group unanimously and vehemently refuse the planned imposition of senator Jeremiah USeni as the party candidate for Governor.
In a statement in Jos the group through its State Publicity Secretary Hon Emmanuel Macham JP said Hon D. T Sango has already assumed the position of the Director General of the campaigns of the said aspirant,he has single handedly been directing what the said aspirant will do on daily basis,making phone calls to party officials,directing them to carry out assignments aims at promoting the 87year old.and has succeeded in planting many of his loyalist mostly of the old AD in strategic campaign position.
The group said if this is allowed to continue the party will suffer grossly,many of our loyalist are aspirants of various position ahead of 2019,we will never condone manipulation or change of delegate list to favour particular candidates as already scheme by few persons.
Hon Sango has already pencil people who will scale through his arranged primaries of PDP from the state houses of assembly,National assembly members and gubernatorial candidates as well,That will never happen the group vowed.
"We call on lovers of Democracy and lover of PDP to stand up and defend there various interest" they reitereted.
"Their aim is to make us lose the 2019 election as they have nothing also to lose,afteroll they have been there for donkey years,this present political system is just a pensional venture to them".
We call on our supporters to defend their candidates,watch carefully how events are unfolding in there units,ward,LGA,and the state in general.the process is clear,the old crook way of doing it is clear.
The group fear that free and fair primaries may not happen in Plateau state and many aspirants who stood for the party will never forgive those who deliberately disenfranchise them,the end result may likely not only be anti party but disastrous for the party survival.
" we Wish to also inform our loyalist that the court case between us and the Sango group is still in progress and no out of court settlement have been reached yet,Thanking leaders and elders of the state for standing by us"
In the same vein Youth Activist Hon Macham Emmanuel JP Call on Politicians to emulate Senator Ibrahim Mantu for the growth of our Democracy.
Mr Macham in a statement prayed:
"Politicians such as the former Deputy Senate President Sen Ibrahim Mantu are rear in our today Democracy,pride have taking over our conscience for leadership,we hardly get leaders who are willing to admit responsibility for wrongdoings.
Senator Ibrahim Mantu has come out clearly to say his mind and involvement in many activities in our Democracy good or bad.
Do we still have such personalities in this country?As he spoke about rigging elections in the past,some have just realised how lucrative rigging elections are,with some even planing to begin their journey of rigging in future elections.
