"Our local government has come to a crossroad once again, and now you have the power to change the political fortunes of our beloved Local government. Elections are about choices . But this election isn ’ t just like any other. It is about deciding whether to switch to the right path to prosperity and good life for our people or to continue in the aimless journey to nowhere upon which our local government has witnessed over the years.
“ I am ready to be your Chairman and I fully understand what this means . A chairman’s job is to ensure that government works for every citizen of the local government and not for his kinsmen alone . A chairman should bring people together and build bridges between rurals and urban areas and harness the different viewpoints for the effective and overall development of the local government . I cannot do this without your support.
Bokkos First, it's a mandate for the people, a chance to make things right to reposition and rebuild Bokkos.
Right now, we are faced with an uncertain future in which, we have a generation of young men and women running the bureaucracy or in public life who owe their future to a godfather, not a country that offered them a chance to excel. This is dangerous because what our past leaders have done is investing in an unproductive system of clientelism which destroys excellence, stunts national cohesion and compromises our public ethos.
My mission is to rebuild, restore and re-position Bokkos local government, make a better future for our children.
My victory in this coming election will serve as an inspiration, breaks the chain of godfatherism, reposition the mind set of our youthful population to take up leadership position.
Women and Youth Empowerment
We will provide the enabling environment for women to achieve their highest potential by taking our initiative beyond the phase of empowering women to empowering society as a whole through the women-in-business.
Our plans to invest in our 8 Technical Vocational Education and Training institutions will create direct jobs for our youth through skills in Engineering, Building Technology, Agriculture, Food Sciences, Hospitality under entrepreneurship schemes or industry employment; We will supportentrepreneures to stimulate the economy through Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) development creating no less than2,000 additional jobs;
I know there are those who don't believe we can do all these
things. All of us running for local government chairman will travel around each community offering ten-point plans and making grand speeches; all of us will trumpet those qualities we believe make us uniquely qualified to lead our people . But too many times, after the election is over, and the confetti is swept away, all those promises fade from memory, and the lobbyists and the special interests move in, and people turn away, disappointed as before, left to struggle on their own.
That is why this campaign can't only be about me. It must be about us - it must be about what we can do together. This campaign must be the occasion, the vehicle, of your hopes, and your dreams. It will take your time, your energy, and your advice to push us forward when we're doing right, and to let us know when we're not. This campaign has to be about reclaiming the meaning of citizenship, restoring our sense of common purpose, and realizing that few obstacles can withstand the power of millions of voices calling for restoration.
On security
I am very aware of the widespread cynicism and total lack of confidence in government arising from the bad faith, deceit and evil actions of recent administrations. Where official pronouncements are repeatedly made and not matched by action, government forfeits the confidence of the people and their trust. One of the immediate acts of my administration will be to implement quickly and decisively, measures that would restore confidence in governance. These measures will help to create the auspicious atmosphere necessary for the reforms and the difficult decisions and the hard work required to put our local government back on the path of development and growth.
The issue of crime requires as much attention and seriousness as the issue of corruption. Although the Police are in the forefront of fighting crimes and ensuring our security, my administration will adopt community policing by improving on the existing local vigilante group. Bokkos must be restore, the future of our yet unborn children must be secure, the protection of lives and properties of our people remains my top most priority.
On Agriculture,
Our farming methods are not modern and income levels of farmers remain low, making the sector unattractive to the youth as a viable means of livelihood. My vision for Bokkos Local government is to modernize agriculture, improve production efficiency, achieve food security,and profitability for our farmers, all aimed at significantly increasing agricultural productivity.
My government will pursue a value-addition strategy aimed at rapidly ramping up agro-processing and developing new and stable markets for our products. Our policies and interventions will encompass the full agricultural value chain and create additional businesses and job opportunities in the areas of storage, transport, processing, packaging and marketing of agricultural produce, all of which will ensure that our farmers will earn higher incomes. Am committed to the restoration of Bokkos farm project (BFP ), Dakanung.
I promise to ensure stability, civility, frugality, transparency, political tolerance, diverse views at all levels and public expenditure will be result-based and
project-driven. I will uphold the bond of performance between the government and its people, provide and deliver proactively through adaptive leadership, adequate, efficient and effective delivery of infrastructure. “My government will insist on inclusivity, rule of law, transparency, responsiveness, equity, accountability, and strategic vision with a view to bridging the trust gap between the people and the government. The traditional institution will be given priority to contribute its quarter towards peace building and good governance.
