BASSA ATTACKS:EYE WITNESS CALLS FOR CIVILIAN TASK FORCE TO BE SET UP

A youth activist who witnessed the attack unleased on Bassa community advises the commandant of the Joint task force to immediately pave the way for a Civilian task force for youths of the state to jealousy guard their Villages from incessant attacks. Prince Rotdunna Ibn Sekats who was at the affected areas during the attacks recount his ordeal. Thank God I was privileged to be at the affected areas. The crisis started at about 0500hours 14/3/2018... At about 0745hours I arrived Dong Kasa where fulanis over powered soldiers at the checkpoint and overrun the village, set the church and many houses ablaze At 0926hours, I called the STF commander, General Anthony himself, he responded by telling me that, his men are on ground only for me to discovered that they actually came with many Hillux vehicles but they all gathered around Rafiki while fulanis were having a filled day, no soldier attempted to entered the Fulanis enclave for fear of being attacked,. Local youths were chase by soldiers instead of chasing the Fulanis who were armed to the teeth, At about 1030hours, while moving around the affected community, soldiers were complaining of lack of ammunitions, they told me clearly that lack of ammunitions caused them to retreat in the early hour where the fulani boys gained access to the community and set it ablaze, soldiers ran out of ammunitions and they have to take cover that's according to the narrative of the soldiers, I am not convinced with their explanation because I sense conspiracy. At about 1100hour, more soldiers were send in, the Fulanis engaged troops in a shoot out and at the cause of try to round the Fulanis up and possibly disarmed them, two soldiers were killed by the Fulanis and many wounded, many bodies were discovered as reported above. Advised, I called on the STF commander to as a matter of urgency, transfered all officers within the following checkpoints,.... Wildlife Dong Sama Dong Kasa Rafiki Etc within 24 hours. That all locals arrested should be freed immediately or I lead a group of youths to protest the ill treatment of our youths, enough is enough.. Stop harassing our youths, go after our killers. I called on the STF commander to as a matter of urgency allow our youths to form Civilian Join Task Force (Civilian JTF) immediately. Lastly, I called on our youths to be vigilant. Prince Rotdunna Ibn Sekat
