LALONG SACKS ANGYOL FOR POOR HANDLING OF SECURITY ISSUES IN BOKKOS
Governor Simon Lalong has disengaged Mr Simon Angyol, the Management Committee Chairman of Bokkos Local Government Area of his appointment on the grounds of poor handling of security issues in Bokkos
Lalong made this known in a communication forwarded to the State’s House of Assembly and was read at Tuesday’s plenary by its Speaker, Mr Peter Azi.
“Following certain unpleasant development in the management of Bokkos local government council, I wish to seek approval for the removal of Mr Simon Angyol as Management Committee Chairman of the Council.
“I also wish to seek your approval to appoint Mr Tamai Simon as the new Management Committee Chairman of the Council,” he stated.
Members of House, in a voice vote, approved the removal of Angyol and the subsequent appointment of Simon.
In a bid to find out the sudden sack of Angyol, a top security personnel in Bokkos who pleaded anonymity says Angyol has been lacklustre in handlingsecurity,he has abandoned all security personnel refusing to mobilise them even when the Governor has been releasing funds for security challenge,he prefers to be playing politics with us.
Another top administrative source in the council said There are several petitions written to the Governor over Angyol incompetence ,that all the councillors wrote a joint petition including his Secretary.
One of the councillors alleged that it is when Angyol got a wind of his imminent sack that he called them and gave them N10,000 each for them to defend him by writing to counter the earlier petition but alas it was too late as the recent attacks in Daffo was the trigger for his inevitable sack.

Angyol is a scapegoat for the ineffectiveness of the lalong administration. As long as we do not have Democratic institutions at the local level crises in bokkos and bassa will continue. What can an interim chairman tell the DPO? What resources does he have when he is loyal to party and not people. Lalong has failed but good action taken.
ReplyDeleteIts a good development
