Distinguished Senator (Gen) J.T Useni has demonstrated over the years in his public service life as a quintessential driver of positive social change in plateau state in particular and Nigeria in general. He is a selfless, compassionate people oriented leader whose enduring legacy is what earned him the name 'Baba Maituwo'. His numerous achievements in three years of his four year tenure as senator of the federal Republic of Nigeria are indicators of his robust and strong emotional attachment to the well being of his constituents, unflinching commitment to uplifting the developmental profile of his Southern Senatorial District and above all, keeping faith with promises he made to his constituents during electioneering campaigns.
At the political front, the Distinguished senator has remained one of the renown political gladiators, not only on the Plateau but in Nigeria as a whole. Having joined PDP not long before he won the Senatorial Seat, he has so far remained a strong force in the party. He has helped in further raising the level of the party through wider followership, huge financial contribution as well as moral support. JT Useni's carrying the party along on all issues and activities is an enormous moral booster that will spur the party leadership to invest more energy, intellect and time on strengthening the party across the state. To us in Plateau State, Age is never a barrier to good leadership and good governance. There is no doubt that Sen.JT Useni's wealth of experience will bode well for further development of our dear state and he will be the one to rescue the rescuer on the Plateau.The senator has given his best in service of not only his constituents, state but the entire country right from the time he started his career as an officer in the Army, from where he got involved into active politics some years after retirement. Being a detribalized Man, his private and official offices are daily inundated with people from all over the country and not just Plateau State. JT Useni is an affectionate individual who concerns himself with issues that affect other people more than self. His generosity knows no bounds. PDP YOUTHS SAY J.T USENI DESERVES AUTOMATIC TICKET FOR GOVERNOR
Plateau PDP Youths Ambassadors have issued a statement backing the ambition of Senator Jeremiah USENI to contest the PDP ticket to go headlong with Governor Simon Bako Lalong of the APC.
The Group is confident that age is not a barrier for "Baba Mai Tuwo" as the senator is fondly called. In a statement signed by the Chairman of the group Mr Joseph Dallas and Secretary comrade Monday Mamot, they are urging USENI to come out and contest.
The statement reads;
