DARIYE CONDEMNS KILLINGS IN DAFFO,PLEAD WITH NATIVES TO BURY THE HATCHET.

Former Plateau state Governor, Senator Joshua Dariye, has condemned in strong terms the incessant attacks on unsuspecting communities in Daffo district of Bokkos Local government council of Plateau state which had led to the loss of many precious lives and destruction of properties running into millions of naira some days ago. Senator Dariye who is the senator representing Plateau central senatorial district at the National Assembly in a press statement issued in Jos on Monday and a copy made available to newsmen titled '' The Daffo killings, lets bury the hatchet '' said he was deeply saddened by the unfortunate occurrences as they continues unabated even after the local government authorities and stakeholders including elders in the local government had been assured of the stoppage to the carnage after several meetings with both warring sides to the misunderstanding.'' Dariye noted that there is no justification for the unleashing of this violence more so as the warring groups have lived together for a very long time. The former Plateau Governor said dialogue remains the only solution to the lingering crisis in Bokkos council and other parts of Plateau state where herders and local farmers are having misunderstanding on the Plateau. He warned that resorting to taking up arms would not bring solutions to the problem as two wrongs cannot make a right Dariye stressed. Dariye called on the attackers to sheath the sword as he called on security agents in the state to fish the perpetrators of these devilish acts and bring them to book, warning that his people could not continue to live at the mercy of these heartless bandits. He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the wanton killings in Daffo district of his home local government council. Dariye appealed to the victims of the attacks in his Bokkos local government council to be patient while lasting solutions are found to these worrisome developments whose people were known for their hospitality. It would be recalled that two days of attacks and killings in Daffo district of Bokkos LGC last week left 16 persons dead and over 200 houses destroyed worth several millions of naira.
