BUHARI'S VISIT: A ROAD MAP TO PEACE -Joseph Lengmangs's PPBA

PLATEAU STATE PEACE BUILDING AGENCY "A ROAD MAP TO PEACE" I heard that the President of Nigeria, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari is coming to Jos on Thursday to commission a number of projects and one of the key highlights of the visit would be the unveiling of the Plateau state Roadmap to Peace. This document I understand was developed by the Plateau State Peace Building Agency alongside a wide range of stakeholders in the Plateau Peace Process. The document identified key intervention areas and outlined several mechanisms for the transformation of conflicts in the next five years. It's indeed a laudable achievement for the Governor, Rt. Hon. Bar. Simon Bako Lalong the rescue leader for creating the Plateau Peace Building Agency. We all remember those dark moments spanning over decades when innocent lives were lost, homes and communities destroyed. Since the setting up of this important Agency by Governor Lalong, which is also headed by a very vibrant Director General, we have seen a concerted effort of government working very closely with other critical stakeholders to deliver the promise of Peace. Today Plateau state enjoys some stability and Peace compared to say ten or twelve years back. This feat couldn't have been achieved without the inclusive governance style of the rescue administration and more importantly their proactive approach to conflict prevention and Peace building. The effort of the administration through its Peace Building initiative is paying off. It might interest you to know that the PPBA through the able leadership of a great mind blowing technocrat, its DG Joseph Lengmang held several stakeholders meeting with security agencies, youths, NGO's and communities to seek out ways in which to halt hostilities that has hitherto bedeviled the state. One of its major efforts will be launched come March 8th 2018 by President Buhari. Experts and policy analysts in peace and conflict resolution in various parts of the country have strongly commended the PPBA for working tirelessly to develop a five year strategic ROADMAP TO PEACE" My dear Plateauian's, peace is Paramount, peace is vital, peace is letting go our differences and embracing the future with much hope. And peace is building a Plateau of our dreams in love and unity for the betterment of children's future..... Pamela Ibrahim.
