STATEMENT FROM BUHARISTS' HANG OUT. DAPCHI GIRLS' RELEASE - A DISCLAIMER. Our attention has been drawn to a viral video purportedly showing indigenes of Dapchi hailing Boko Haram elements as they came to Dapchi with the abducted girls. Likewise a fake picture of well dressed girls with bags neatly packed is being circulated by the same unscrupulous elements. We want to state authoritatively and without prevarication that nothing could be further from the truth. First of all, the girls were returned at night according to all credible accounts given by multiple sources. Specifically the girls were dropped off at about 03:00hrs sporadically and each found their ways to their parents' homes until they were called out by daylight for documentation and movement to Abuja via Maiduguri. The video being circulated was clearly shot during the day. Secondly, the masked men were in a truck. So where were the buses or vehicles that conveyed over 100 girls. They should be in a convoy. Shouldn't they? If these mischievous folks want to convince anyone that the fake video has anything to do with what happened in Dapchi today and the girls' return, why is there nothing connecting the video with that? That video is simply an old and totally unconnected video. While it's true that the good people of Dapchi were overjoyed at the release of their girls, they clearly know who the enemy is and they remain eternally grateful to President Muhammadu Buhari and our gallant Armed Forces. It is really surprising and indeed saddening that a group of people would want to play immoral politics with the lives and emotions of our fellow citizens who have been through a most traumatic experience both as hostages and as familes. Another fallacy is the notion that the abductors returned the girls without any intervention by the government. This is in addition to a few disgruntled elements who claim that the abduction was a scam. We shall not respond to those people as they were the same people shamelessly trying to make political capital out of the same incident as recent as 24 hours ago. You would recall that we informed you a few days ago that the Minister for Defence stated that concerted efforts were being made in to effect the release of the girls. In fact he reassured that the Government was confident based on every resource deployed and engagements on several fronts that the girls return was imminent. We can understand why some people who would not want anything good for the nation will be sad that the girls were eventually released as promised but when you have a committed and sincere leadership as we have in President Buhari, you can trust it and take its word to the bank. We therfore urge every well meaning citizen to disregard those fake materials being circulated by enemies of the State and humanity. While we appreciate the Federal Government for being responsible and commited to get this result, we urge it to intensify efforts to rescue the remaining Chibok girls and ensure that no such incident happens again. We are also confident that all other security issues bedeviling the nation including the herdsmen/Farmers crisis will be equally resolved.
