2019: I WILL RETIRE JANG TO DU-HENRY LODAM

The seat for Plateau North Senatorial district in the Senate occupied by Senator Jonah Jang faces another threat come 2019 as a youth spurred by the not too young to run mantra has offered himself to challenge the status quo and bring leadership to his people.
He seeks to achieve this great feat under the platform of ADP, a party tht has shown its support and encouragemwnt for the youths.
HENRY LODAMS  writes on some of his manifesto to the people of Plateau North on what he will do different from the incumbent Senator Jonah Jang.

Meaningful youth are changing the political landscape of their nations. They are shaping the economy of their nations. They are responsible and they are brilliant. I am one who has the passion, the knowledge, the skill and enough jealousy for my people, to make a difference. At the end of my tenure, the political gladiators will gather and say, "we are proud of our youth". I am Henry Pwajok Lodam. I am here to make a difference. I will not rest until we end extreme poverty, where people don't have to beg for food. We must make clean water available to every community in Nigeria. We must raise the quality of primary education to compete with its counterparts in foreign nations and we must make it free. I am taking the issue of Primary Health Care personal. And I want all public hospitals to be cheap and fully equipped. I don't know why a country so rich is still in darkness. Power must be fixed. It is possible. I will lead a campaign that will declare every sector of this nation an emergency case. We must cut down all salaries and erase some senseless public office allowances so that resources can be channelled into fixing Nigeria. Corruption must be brought to its knees. We must stop borrowing and start fixing our economy. We must fix all our refineries and build 4 new ones. Ajaokuta steel complex must come to life. It's engines must roar and our automobile industry must be a foreign exchange earner. Our central bank lending rate for commercial banks must be crashed to 6%, so that everyone, including the mechanics, the carpenter, the akara woman, the local carpenter, can all upgrade and expand their businesses with easy loans. Our economy must be the biggest in Africa in terms of per capita income. True federalism must be established and the government must be decentralized. Some items in the exclusive legislative list must be moved to the concurrent list. I think State Policing will be more effective. These are a few of the things i am campaigning for. My political campaign is just a tool in this pursuits.

Public Office is not just a TRUST; it is  a JOB. You will be my bosses, not the other way round. You have the power to both hire and fire me when I don't perform well, when elected. There is a job description in this office. The vacancy that will exist in 2019 for me to fill is a SEAT AT THE SENATE of the federal republic; that is what I am applying for now. My JD is to use every power and authority attached to that office to campaign for the GOOD LIFE for everyone, especially the downtrodden in my constituency, and hence, Nigeria. My focus is on those who, for the sake of bad leadership, are subjected to very harsh and unhealthy conditions of living. My heart bleeds each time I see honest people struggle to earn a living and every indices of survival is being taken far away from their reach with each bad government policy and corruption. I will sponsor bills (I have written 32 already), I will raise motions and table petitions on the floor of the Nigerian senate; I will advocate on behalf of the common man in form of campaigns and movements for good governance and against a bad one. I will not only console or condemn with mouth as many are doing. I will not sit while they form dead committees upon committees without result. I will follow every right channel and use the powers of my office to get to the bottom of every matter within the exclusive legislative list; that will build a bridge where there needs to be one, fix all primary health care centers, build dams and water treatment plants and make adequate clean water available in the villages and the slums, we will also get to the bottom of the power quagmire and for Christ's sake make power supply stable, children should attend well equipped and proper schools, and land and fertilizer should be available to farmers. bank lending rates must be crashed to the minimum, all long processes in all public offices must go and people should be able to easily access services. The Nigerian Police should give way to State Policing that will be adequate, fully equipped and well trained and positioned to function better - security must be fixed. Our borders must be better secured and corruption must be reduced to the barest minimum. I will follow up every matter to the end, I am young and can travel all the time. I will not sit there and hire staff, I will go there myself and do the job I am supposed to do. Representative governance is not a job for the big boys, it is hard work for servants who are sent by people to do a job. I will stand against every executive order that is against the welfare of the people. I will debate it to its death. I will go against every minister, DG, Perm Sect, Head of Government agencies, ministries and departments who is non-performing, under-performing or corrupt. I am not tired. I will also campaign against every anti-public government policies and I will keep you informed every week. I will create an E-TOWN HALL. (electronic town hall) Where we can hold our town-hall meetings every Friday night with the Youth on social media. So that everyone can attend the town hall meetings and bare their minds on every decision of government, so that I can present them at the floor of the senate, so that everyone can participate. My youth should be able to attend town hall meetings from the comfort of their rooms or where ever they are, they gave me this job. I am calling on all youth to go get their PVC. Together, we can change the way things are done in this country for good. I promise you, this will not be business as usual. There is a lot of work to be done. We will change the social order; the political order, the structural order and the psychological disorder of Nigeria.
-HENRY LODAM

  1. Wow... thank you munatare for the show of love. We need more support from the youth block. If you don't support your own, no one will. Besides, I am not asking for a support on age alone, but for competence. For prowess and for the ability and capability to bring adequate representation to the common man. This blogger understands the call. I am grateful. However, my father,Baba Jang, is someone I deeply respect. I see him as an executive, who's red blood cells are natured for making policy and executing them, not law making. We want him look towards aso rock, not exactly retire to Du, so I feel this heading doesn't so well with us.
