JANG/LALONG (JANG-LONG) 2007-2018

What is JANG-LONG?
(The period between the Administration of Former Gov. Jonah David Jang and Barr.  Simon Bako Lalong Administration -May, 2007 -Date).
It's the time when Plateau State experienced the most traumatic ethnicity dicothomy in its entirety~ ( Definition is solely the authors').

Let me begin by saying that:

The most weak minded person to believe that the Barr. Simon Lalong Administration hasn't achieved  anything for this state, is an enemy of Plateau State.

There are resounding success this administration has been able to achieve: from completion of ongoing projects by the last administration to the award and execution of new ones.

Simon Bako Lalong administrations' Achievements:

1. First of its kind~ The Plateau State Peace Building Agency ( A model replicated by Kaduna State Government)
2. Plateau State Small and Medium Enterprises Agency ~Another First.
3. Prudent utilization of the Bailout funds and clearing almost all outstanding salaries and pensions of all civil servants.
4. Completion of Secretariat junction flyover and so many other projects inherited from the erstwhile administration of Jonah David Jang (Photo credit~Prince Pilgani)
5. Initiation of new projects, awarded and executed by the Barr. Simon Bako Lalong administration (Photo credit~ Prince Pilgani).
6. Resuscitation of the Plateau State Bottling Company, Barkin Ladi.
7. Convocation of students as well as accreditation of new courses at the Plateau State University, Bokkos is a milestone achievement no doubt.
8. Completion and execution of new structures at the Plateau State University, Bokkos.
9. Rehabilitation and renovation of the Plateau State Special Hospital is a step in the right direction.
10. Plateau United won it's first ever League title. This is as a result of clear and concise motivation from the State Government no doubt.
11. Completion of ongoing work at the Zaria road Stadium is a worthy course that needs all round  commendation.
12. Please, feel free to add what I've not taken into account.
LACK OF FOCUS OF THE SIMON BAKO  LALONG ADMISTRATION:

Similarly, the most docile and naive minded person to believe that the Barr. Simon Lalong Administration hasn't done wrong against Plateau State, is an enemy of Plateau State. Some of them are:
1. Politicizing peace and security issues of its citizens is not acceptable by most people definitely: especially when government seems quiet and lackluster about security. A different story from his Benue, Taraba and Ekiti counterparts.
2. Gifting away Cars to Federal Legislators is a big fraud to Plateau State.
3. Non accountability of how much the State generates internally to its citizens is a continuum of bad governance even at the Federal level (E.g how much is Plateau's worth in the Paris Club refund and what has it been used for?)
4. Not giving maximum attention to PRTVC which is fast becoming a community TV station rather than the Middlebelt voice station it was created to achieve: with no additional value in staffing and content even after being digitalized. The visual studio is an apology.
5. Very little attention has been given on the  state of education at the primary and secondary school levels in Plateau State: which are still in dire need of employment and rehabilitation. Though efforts are been made towards employment, some of the Governor's lieutenants are hijacking the process.
6. The State Executive Council needs to be rejiged. Some of them are not adding any substance to the course of Plateau State. We mustn't wait for the Presidency before we carry and bear our cross. That's Nigeria's problem : this is Plateau State's desire.
7. It's no longer news that the Plateau State Revenue House has been taken over by one Local Government. If Jang enthroned such ethnicity (subject to debate), it mustn't be retained as a process  by the present administration. That's called  "JANGLONG".
8. The promise for Youth Empowerment has still not been achieved. We still got alot of unemployed youths languishing in Kalong, Jol, Angwan Rukuba, Angwan Rogo and Angware.
9. Still on education, the quality of students and graduates from the Colleges of Education: especially on the Plateau, is on a nosedive, pathetic and requires urgent attention. The future of our children and those yet unborn is at stake. Some students from some of these institutions cannot even spell their names. I witnessed one young girl who had to copy her name from her Identity card. The next day, she was copying her name from the time book "Word for word".  It's that serious.
10. Retired Civil Servants have been punished for serving their state steadfastly and meritoriously. Though this transcends the Lalong administration, he needs to open up other civil servants Estates like he did In the Federal and State Low-cost Housing Estates.
~(Focus: Former Legislators Quarters: along old Lamingo road: is a death trap for these aged men and women who dedicated their lives for the best of Plateau State).
11. If it's true that His Excellency partys alot, then that's bad. It's not bad though to relax after a hard day's work but too much of everything: it's said is bad.
12. Please, feel free to add to what I have not taken into account.

MY VISION AND DREAM  FOR PLATEAU!!

1. That every spirit of JANGLONG be killed and buried in Jesus name.
2. That every time Plateau State is mentioned, we will not be guided by ethnicity.
3. That Government should use the peace and economic development enjoyed in Jos to construct and rehabilitate the streetlights in Jos and environs.

3. I hope that the Zaria road Stadium be completed this year.
4.That PRTVC will be resuscitated to start new content programming and 24 hour operations as only Jay FM goes on 24 hour programs on the Plateau.
5. That  Plateau Youths will eschew politics of bitterness and ethnicity and imbibe the conviviality spirit of Africanism and brotherliness in the face of adversities.
6. That I don't care where you come from as far as you  can provide competency and meritocracy above ethnicity and zoning. If everyone in Revenue House is of the Ngas nation: but the IGR of the State is on a geometric increase, they should also occupy all the banks in Plateau as far as good governance is seen and achieved.
7. I dream that Plateau State will take its pride of Place at the Federal Level: because we've been not been adequately represented but negatively schemed out of the National cake. We've been maligned and spat on since 1999.
8. I envision young men and women taking back the lost pride of Plateau State sooner than later.
9. I dream of passing through the JUTH permanent site and view the 3 star hotel completed.
10. I hope that our rich agricultural and mineral resources will be commensurate to the number of Industries to cater for our growing unemployed youths.
11. I hope to see CLASS, ROCK and Malt Royale come back to life and compete with Guinness and Nigerian Breweries: and I pray it flies to neighbouring African countries so that we can achieve economic prosperity in the State.

12. I dream about a future where healthy ranches are built and manned by true herders: and farmers' markets browsing through the State with high yield. Some being reserved in state owned silos for the troubled days ahead- that's if we ever have any.
13. I envision Barc farms coming to full scale production.
14. I Pray that Plateau United win the league again this year and for the next 10 years ( I can't be less selfish when it comes to football). I pray Arsenal will open an Academy in Plateau State to harness youths with talents. We mustn't all go to school to make it you know?
15. I dream about Shoprite opening their own gifts' shop in 5 different malls in Jos, Bukuru, Mangu, Kanam and Mikang Local Governments respectively.
16. I envision young men and women taking over technology from the United States and Japan: they are from Fursum, Jing, Janaret, etc.
13. You too can add your own vision and dream to The new Plateau of our Dreams. We are limitless and intelligent young generation. Everything is possible if you believed.

Until then, I'm just a Plateau guy saying it as I see it and dream it. Don't be distracted by JANGLONG...
