PICTURES:DARIYE LEADS CONTRACTORS TO SITE IN CONSTITUENCY.
Distinguished Senator Joshua Chibi Dariye representing the Good People of Plateau Central Senatorial District in company of a high powered delegation from the ministry of Environment and contractors were at Kuba,Bokkos Local Government to commence work on a water retention wall to curb the devastating effects of erosion that has engulfed the area.
Senator Dariye lobbied for the contract and it was approved.
Dariye in his quest to make sure the contractor's deliver took them to site and handed over documents for them to start work with immediate effect.
The work is spread across Bokkos and Pankshin. The Bokkos axis has Kuba stream and Kobmur bridge in Mushere, while in Pankshin it is along mile 8,Pankshin road.
The water retention wall when fully completed will solve the problem of erosion and free flow of water during raining season.
The major cause of the erosion is as a result of tin mining over the years and neglect from successive governments.
The areas became prone to erosion and whenever it rains heavily it causes more damage to the roads.
The Kuba stream area is responsible for at least six deaths each year.
The water retention wall will channel water to a particular area to bring an end to the erosion challenge and for the good use of locals.
