GOVERNOR SIMON BAKO LALONG FOCUSED ON COMPLETION OF ROAD PROJECTS.
Plateau State Governor,Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong is determined on completing major road projects in the state to bring dividends of democracy to the good people of Plateau State.
The Governor is resolute on completing projects embarked upon by his predecessor as he initiates new ones as part of fulfilling his campaign promises.
Intimating the Plateau people on the success thus far of the rescue administration ,the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Executive Governor of Plateau State,Hon Emmanuel Nanle dismissed claims by the opposition of non-performance as he highlighted numerous projects completed vis a vis the ones that are presently ongoing.
"They said Gov Lalong has not completed any project, yet amidst excruciating financial circumstances and burdensome inherited financial liabilities of about N220bn, the Rescue Administration has not only responsibly continued with the projects inherited from the Jang Administration but has also completed newly initiated ones. To mention a few;
-The maingo Road to Rafiki has been completed.
-The Rantya to Domkat Bali road has been overlaid.
-The federal Low cost Road network has been constructed.
-The Rantya state low cost Road to Bambi cheap has been constructed.
-The Mai Adiko- Government House to Yelwa Club road has been completed.
-The Zololo-Dilimi, Plateau Hospital-Dogon Karfe, dental Clinic-Fototek, Tina Junction to Yanshanu metropolitan roads, the tudun Wada to Angwan miango, the Bauchi Ring Road to Maza Roads have been completed.
-The kallum Bridge was initiated and constructed.
-The Gindiri to Mangu road was completed.
-The secretariat Fly over bridge is completed while the Main Arterial road to Mararaban Jama'a is almost at the point of. Completion.
-The Riyom Referral Hospital has been completed and is being equipped.
-The west of mines Highcourt was completely renovated and the main High Court Complex is at the second phase and experiencing extensive construction work which will be sustained until completed.
-The PLASU as a project has not only received accreditation and held the first convocation in twelve years, but is at the verge of receiving over 50 PhD Holders.
-Payment of salaries and pension as an abandoned project for more than 13months have been completed.
-Backlog of gratuities and death benefits that have remained unpaid for 8 years and amounting to almost N15bn are now being paid.
-The abandoned fertilizer Blending plant is now blending products.
-The over three decades moribund Highland Bottling plant is now working
-The Secretariat renovation was completed and workers are now fully settled in office.
-The inherited Abuja Governor's Lodge has been completed.
All these are besides the Civil Service reform that has addressed backlogs of promotion and career placements; payment of leave grants, scholarships for students abroad and at home, sponsorships of athletes to all sporting competitions with laurels as evidence of the full support of Government for the contingents. Further to all these are the establishment of functional new Agencies, the recruitment of new teachers and the reinstatement of unjustly sacked employees of some Agencies of Government. This modest list of the achievement of the Lalong Administration".
As the Local Government elections billed for February draws near in the state,it will be a litmus test for the incumbent APC led administration as it tests its acceptability amongst the people with the opposition led by The PDP,The ADP and others gearing up for a showdown.
