The Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees in Plateau State commend Governor Lalong for upholding the out of court settlement brokered at the inception of this administration to end the court case on the "No work ,no pay" stance of the last administration.
Comrade Samson Mafuyai,The State President of Nulge acknowledged that Governor Simon Lalong has paid one month out of the four months owed, and asks the Governor to fulfill his part of the bargain especially as the Local Government elections draw closer.
On the Prompt payment of salaries Mr Mafuyai responded.
"Yes, salaries are paid as at when due, but we take 55% of what our counterparts at the state level take, we are asking for a review to favour our workers at the LGA level".
In summary Mr Mufayai tenders the issues they want the rescue administration to do for a facelift of the Local Government staff highlighted below...
Issues of local govt staff still outstanding:
1.promotion was last done in 2008 2.implementation of minimum wage at the LGAs
3.posting of staff to new stations. 4.Appoinment of substantive directors
5.Clearing of outstanding staff not on salary since 2013
6.Restoration of payment of domestic staff to deserving staff 7.completion of no work no pay,payment which has commenced.
8.clearance of all outstanding disciplinary cases.
9.Implementatiin of annual increment since 2013.
These items listed are very crucial to having a smooth industrial harmony, as the Local Government is pivotal to grassroot development of the state.
